“If you ask me what I came into this life to do, I will answer you: I am here to live out loud.”
Welcome to Live Out Loud, a blog created as a place of healing and hope—to reach out to those who have been affected by this horrible disease called Melanoma. In January of 2014, I lost my son, Connor, aka “The Ginger,” to Melanoma, just 2 months and 9 days after his diagnosis. This blog is about my journey with the love of my life, my ginger kid. It’s about a life lived out loud.
In September 2015, I will be starting a 6-week, 500-mile trek across Northern Spain, hiking The Camino de Santiago in his memory. I’ll be walking The Way of St. James, taking Connor with me in my heart. The Camino de Santiago has many routes, all ending in the same place, at The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Northwestern Spain.
Join me on the journey.
I am asked, why do The Camino? “The heart has its reasons, of which reason knows nothing.”
