The Melanoma Coalition is a fully recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the eradication of this awful disease. Your donations are tax deductible.
Funding for Research, Prevention & Education
Medical breakthroughs are within sight and we want to continue the desperately needed support for cure-focused research. Currently, almost 100% of the funds raised by The Melanoma Coalition are targeted for ongoing research. Donations enable the efforts of Dr. Susana Ortiz and faculty at the UCSF Cancer Center to examine, pursue treatments and discover an ultimate cure for Melanoma.
That’s Not All…
We are also pleased to announce that the Melanoma Coalition has begun expanding focus to include national education and prevention campaigns. Although melanoma represents only 5% of all skin cancers it causes the most skin cancer deaths. If recognized and treated early it’s almost 100% curable; however recognizing it early is the catch. The Melanoma Coalition is committed to building national awareness and education campaigns in order to prevent and cure this disease early.
In Loving Memorandum
We are committed to developing a cure for Melanoma in the loving memory of Connor M. Cockerham, also known to many as “The Ginger.” Connor succumbed to the disease on January 9, 2014—just 2 months and 9 days after diagnosis. He was 20 years old. Raising awareness, providing resources and finding a cure is all done out of the love and generosity surrounding Connor and everyone affected by Melanoma.
